Phase 1

With the initial discussion, we came upon knowing of the tin trunk that was use by CK Tang himself since he embark the journey to Singapore. The trunk has been preserved well to this day and serves as the legacy icon for us to remember of the late CK Tang.

Thus, we intend to use it as the icon of our exhibtion to inform the public of it existence and appreciate it history.

But, we are not going to just replicate a trunk of it original design. We are going to present a fresh look to the trunk installation while still retaining it original look as much as possible.

Go through this development page and you will realise how we get to the final exhibiting installation

"

Plans went ahead with derivating a fresh design to change the trunk into.

The concept was to split the trunk into compartments to represent the different stages of TANGS.

Ideas were coming from making rotating drawer to having hidden compartments.

The Plan 1

"

Concept in our minds, begin to look concrete.

Setting down on this final structure which we believe you can't find in any general furniture stores.

The design comes as a chest in appearance, with the lid, handles and everything.

Opening the the lid, is when you will realise why is the trunk so shallow and notice 2 sliding drawers below
